In June of 2021, the Springboard Studio launched the first request for proposals (RFP) for the iSolve Awards. iSolve is a program open to ALL Mass General Hospital and Mass General Physicians Organization employees who have an idea to make health care more user-friendly. From a pool of 47 applications, a team made up of leaders from MGB Innovations, an MGH hospitalist and innovation leader, as well as outside advisors from Novartis and Abiomed chose 11 finalists, six of whom were chosen as Grand Prize winners, receiving $20,000 in funding and six months of acceleration support from the Springboard Studio.

Karim Benali, MD, MSc, former Chief Medical Officer for ABIOMED, Inc. and former Global Manager-Cardiology & Functional Imaging at GE Healthcare Ltd., and a member of the Global Health and Service Advisory Council at Harvard Medical School.
Carl Berke, PHD, Partner at Mass General Brigham Venture Fund in Cambridge, investing in new biomedical technologies emerging from Massachusetts General Hospital, Brigham & Women’s Hospital and Mass Eye & Ear. He is also currently a Founding Director of Mass Medical Angels LLC, a local investment group dedicated to seed stage investment in biomedical innovation.

Christiana Iyasere, MD, MBA, attending physician in Mass General Hospital Department of Medicine’s Division of General Internal Medicine who has spent the past 10 years involved in the active development of nascent technologies and therapeutics She currently sits on the Mass General Brigham Commercialization Council.
Erin Mckenna, MBA, MS, Head of Medical Devices and Operating Partner with Amplify, a translational investment initiative at Mass General Brigham Innovation. Erin has been the Deputy Director and Senior Project Manager in the Boston Biomedical Innovation Center (B-BIC), a life science accelerator program funded by the National Institutes of Health.
Jim Miller, JD, MPA, Director, MGH Springboard Studio Accelerator. He is the co-founder of two high impact medical device companies and two other non-medical companies. A former attorney, he was also the Chief Global Mentor for Mass Challenge, Executive in Residence at Partners (MGB) Healthcare Innovation, and director of the Massachusetts Environmental Crimes Strikeforce.
